SiGMA Europe’s anniversary auction raises €186,000 for charity
Amidst the grandeur of the SiGMA Europe Awards ceremony in Malta, the charitable auction brought gaming and philanthropy together for an unforgettable night. Held in the Hilton Malta’s opulent ballroom, the event showcased an impressive collection of vivid artworks, each piece generously contributed by artists from across the globe.
Proceeds go to support a number of global projects championed by the SiGMA Foundation, which this year included a multi-sensory hall for disadvantaged children in Baatan, Philippines – which was inaugurated this month as part of the SiGMA Asia 2024 agenda, cleft palate surgeries for children in Colombia, and a skill building project for women in the Bonga region in Ethiopia. As a result of its efforts from 2023 to 2024, the foundation has raised a total of €935,400 through SiGMA´s charity auctions – a fitting tribute to its anniversary celebrations.
The evening buzzed with excitement as guests engaged in lively bidding, encouraged by auctioneer Rick Goddard, whose infectious energy kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Mexican artist Tommy Zegan´s Bronze Lady sculpture sparked an intense bidding war, eventually selling for €65,000, while Atlas Quest started off the auction on a good note, ultimately raising €20,000.
The event received generous support from BETCONSTRUCT, an award-winning technology and service provider for the online and land-based gaming industry.
